Developed by Allergan, the makers of Botox, Avage is available by prescription only. Considering their history, Avage has a leg to stand on when they say Avage is proven to reduce wrinkles, darks spots, and pigmentations on the face. The main ingredient in Avage is called Tazarotene, which should not be combined with certain other prescription medications, explaining in part why it is available through prescription only. It is also suggested that users avoid excessive amounts of sunlight or use sunscreen when using Avage. There is no research as of yet to suggest why Tazarotene is so effective and how it accomplishes its goals, only that it does have an effect.
