One of the best known cosmetic brands in America, Clinique is well known for its cosmetic lines. Hoping to break into the densely populated wrinkle care industry, Clinique has produced its anti gravity firming lift cream. It promises to firm skin and lift wrinkles. It also promises to provide not only immediate, but long term promised effects on the skin.

The mother company, Clinique, was established in August 1968 by Estee Lauder Inc. It was to be the “first dermatologist developed skin care line” for individuals with sensitive skin. As such, Clinique has developed a long standing and dependable record as a company. They started out selling only in Macy’s stores. But now, Clinique can be found on the shelves of stores in just about every city and town in America. While Clinique has been in the cosmetic industry for over 40 years, they have not been in the wrinkle industry, and so this is a new endeavor for them, trial and error as with many others in this industry. As the new kid on the block, they have followed the examples of some other manufacturers who are slightly more seasoned. So what does this process of follow the leader mean? First of all, it means they don’t provide a full list of ingredients. Just about every company, whether reputable or not, started out hiding their ingredients list and revealing maybe one or two of the main ingredients. Of course, as we have seen, the more reputable companies with better products quickly learn this is not the way to go. Then, they incorporate this product into a multi step product, meaning you have to buy the whole package if you hope for results, which can become highly expensive. And finally, there is the fact that they are likely to use a number of fillers to save money while charging as much as they want, because you, the consumer, don’t know the difference without an ingredients list.

While Clinique is a well seasoned cosmetic company, they are just breaking into the anti wrinkle business. And while doing so, they have picked up a few bad habits common to companies selling worthless products. Unfortunately, the anti aging business is not one to just jump into without the proper research and work. As such, I would suggest looking at a company who seems to better understand what they are doing.
