Now Foods’ Hyaluronic Acid Firming Serum

What is Hyaluronic Acid Firming Serum?

Applied to specific areas of the face that are generally more prone to age lines such as the forehead, eye and mouth area, this serum is a concentrated solution. The key active ingredient is hyaluronic acid, which is said to stimulate collagen and also to increase the elasticity of the skin. This serum designed for mature skin. This is because elasticity and collagen production both decrease with age, and that is what causes wrinkles and sagginess in the skin. In order to see if this product is truly effective, we must see what the active ingredients are and how much of those ingredients are in the product.

Ingredients

De-ionized Water, Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) Leaf Gel*, Vegetable Glycerin, Xanthan Gum, Natural Aroma, Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid), Green Tea Extract, Algae Extract, Soluble Collage and Cedar Bark Extract.

Pros

We are happy that this company provided a list of all the ingredients. It is also inexpensive, costing about $12.75 for one fluid ounce.

Cons

This product is totally useless. Most of the ingredients are extracts, which are incapable of permeating the skin. Most disappointing is the hyaluronic acid. When injected into the skin, it is can stimulate collagen and increase elasticity rather effectively. But as a cream or even a serum, it has not been proven to go deeper than the superficial layer of the skin, let alone work as an anti-aging cream. Additionally, many of the people who tried it complained about its overwhelming smell, and disliked the sticky texture of the serum on their face. The soluble collagen in the serum is also ineffective, since collagen that is small enough to enter the skin is too small to make any difference.

Conclusion

We would not recommend this product because the ingredients cannot possibly deliver the results that they claim.
