Prevage

Prevage is a prescription only antioxidant cream developed by Allergan, who is also responsible for botox. It is highly controlled, and it can be used at home. But you have to visit your doctor to get it. They focus on ingredients like coenzyme Q10, vitamin C, vitamin E, kinetin, and alpha lipoic acid. They claim this will get rid of free radicals lying on your skin. So in short, whether you skin is damaged by smoking, sun damage, etc, Prevage claims to reverse this and prevent it from recurring in the future.

The big problem is that while antioxidants are great, they do not actually fight wrinkles. In addition, you can find the same basic formula in an over the counter product known as Kinerase. The biggest difference between the two, you can’t get Prevage for less than about $115. But you don’t get a better formula, and as we found with Kinerase, the formula doesn’t have any really redeeming qualities in terms of wrinkle fighting power.

You may believe in products just because they are sold through prescription outlets. But the reality is that in the world of wrinkle treatments, you get no guarantees by doing this. We have yet to find a prescription acne cream, serum, etc that actually fights wrinkles. So Prevage is apparently in the right market.
